TIGO Bolivia is deploying Acme Packet Net-Net session border controllers to support its VoIP interconnects for international long distance. Digium and DOW Networks announce that DOW Networks has become a Digium Solutions Partner. DOW Networks as a key integration partner has used Asterisk, the open source telephony platform created by Digium, for years to create complex solutions for call centers and enterprises. Global Crossing has selected CounterPath's eyeBeam softphone as part of its market offering in South America. The IP Telephony softphone enables enterprise workers to use their PC to access their full suite of corporate telephony services - including voice, video and Instant Messaging features - from any broadband connection in the world.

Videomar has deployed Cedar Point's SAFARI C3 Multimedia Switching System for the delivery of one of the first VoIP based triple play services in Brazil. By adding Videomar to its expanding customer base, Cedar Point continues to rapidly increase its presence in the Brazilian market. Cedar Point recently announced product certification on its SAFARI C3 from Brazil-based Anatel. Telefónica has been chosen by Microsoft to provide VoIP services (trademarked Voype by Telefónica) to Windows Live Messenger customers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, the United States and Venezuela. Telefónica was chosen from a field of several operators to be Microsoft’s sole provider of VoIP services in the region.

Global Crossing announced a three-year contract with Michael Page to interconnect the company's offices and operations in Brazil and Mexico. Under the agreement, Global Crossing will provide IP VPN services, VoIP Outbound services and managed network services in Brazil and Mexico, as well as local access services in Sao Paulo, where the company's network hub for the region is located. Headquartered in London, Michael Page specializes in the placement of candidates in permanent, contract, temporary and interim positions within client companies around the world.

Nexus Telecom has selected and deployed VocalTec’s Essentra VoIP Peering and Trunking, in partnership with HiSecur, a successful Brazilian Telecom Systems Integrator.

VocalTec was selected by Nexus Telecom following evaluation and benchmarking with several other equipment vendors. The project includes the deployment of VocalTec’s Essentra CX, Trunking solution and Essentra EX, VoIP Peering Manager.
