Cedar Point Selected for VoIP and Triple Play Services in Brazil

safariC3.jpgVideomar has deployed Cedar Point's SAFARI C3 Multimedia Switching System for the delivery of one of the first VoIP based triple play services in Brazil. By adding Videomar to its expanding customer base, Cedar Point continues to rapidly increase its presence in the Brazilian market. Cedar Point recently announced product certification on its SAFARI C3 from Brazil-based Anatel. The deployment with Videomar represents the shipment of Cedar Point's 50th switch into the Caribbean and Latin America market.

Using SAFARI C3, Videomar is providing high-quality, highly-reliable cable telephony as part of a bundle of services that includes voice and broadband data. Videomar delivers video to 40,000 subscribers and high speed data to 24,000 subscribers in Brazil. The package is one of the first triple play bundles to be launched in Brazil. TVC, a Cedar Point reseller and support partner for the Latin American and Caribbean markets, assisted Cedar Point in the completion of the agreement.

Cedar Point has shipped more than four million SAFARI C3 lines to customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to 250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic yard of space, incorporating all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure. It is being deployed for residential and business services by a diverse customer base that includes Cable System Operators, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers, Wireless Operators and Universities.
