MetaSwitch Assumes Carrier VoIP Leadership Position

Just-released research by independent market analyst firm Infonetics Research puts MetaSwitch for the first time at the top of its global ranking of VoIP vendors for Class 5 softswitch licenses. According to the report, "Service Provider VoIP Equipment and Subscribers Q1 2009," MetaSwitch is now the number one supplier of Class 5 softswitch licenses with 18.4 percent share. In North America, the company continued its leading position in the same product category, increasing its share to an impressive 60.1 percent.

GIPS Survey Shows Opportunities Aplenty for HD Voice

GIPS_Logo2.gifIn an innovative effort to gauge the current state of the fast-emerging, high-definition voice market, technology pioneer Global IP Solutions, took advantage of its recent webinar on HD voice to poll its most likely applications.

The GIPS-initiated poll, taken by 186 of the webinar’s attendees, revealed that a third of respondents thought HD voice quality would benefit overall productivity in the workplace, while 57 percent considered conference calling would benefit the most. Sixteen percent believed HD’s greatest impact would be felt in call centers.
