VoIP Survey Shows Big Shift Toward IP Telephony in Downturn

CompareBusinessProducts.com performs regular surveys of business product buyers, particularly in the telephony space and the latest survey of 500 real purchasers who were all in the process of decision making shows emphatically that buyers are considering VoIP solutions for their telephony needs above all other possibilities.

While the high rate of preference for VoIP isn't necessarily a surprise, the amount by which VoIP is now preferred is a dramatic increase from previous levels. Over 90% of all prospective buyers are considering VoIP solutions and over 80% are considering VoIP solutions exclusively.

The reasons for the dramatic increase are clear. First is the improved reputation and market penetration of VoIP which was already seen as the leading solution. Second is the current economy and increased pressures on business costs, historically an area where VoIP has excelled. Third, the increased need for added functionality in business phone systems as economic pressures increase the need for faster and more intelligent sales cycles.
