Vocalocity Announces Grand Winner in First Ever Phone System Makeover Contest

vocalocity_logo.gifVocalocity announced this morning that it has chosen the winner for its “Phone System Makeover Contest.” The video contest which was held from June 1-August 16 asked entrants to create a short video explaining why their business needed a new phone system. Creativity was a contest requirement, and several of the videos included business owners’ family members in humorous skits. The contest was designed to provide a way for businesses struggling with a down economy to showcase the reasons they need to cut costs with Small business VoIP.

All video entries were posted to Vocalocity’s Youtube channel, and judging was based on a combination of total video “likes,” and criteria such as creativity, and overall need for a new phone system. The winning video was created by Blake Crawford of Crawford Law Firm. Crawford’s video showcased his old bulky equipment, and detailed how Vocalocity’s service would help him cut phone costs, and make his business more efficient. Many of the entries displayed a range of creativity and humor, but Crawford’s “Answering Machine Mayhem” was ultimately the highest rated video and gained the highest marks.

“We wanted people to get creative, and Crawford’s video was a great example of what we were looking for,” says Melissa Levine, Senior Marketing Manager. “We help small businesses become more competitive on a small business budget. The need for cost cutting and efficiency has only increased, and with the economy the way it is, many small business owners are realizing that business VoIP is the way to go.”

In addition to Crawford’s video, Vocalocity gave special mention to the runner up, Golden Heritage Advisors. Heritage showed how they would grow with Vocalocity’s phone system, by flashing to the future using a child in the company’s initial scenes and then showing him as an adult. Overall Vocalocity considers the contest a success, and is looking to do similar promotions in the future.
