counterpath_logo.jpgCounterPath and BroadSoft announce Bria for BroadWorks, a softphone offered by CounterPath that interoperates seamlessly with BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP application platform. Bria for BroadWorks is a feature rich, open standards-based softphone that combines VoIP and Video over IP, Instant Messaging, Short Message Service, and Presence capabilities in a customizable user interface.

Deployed in conjunction with BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform, Bria for BroadWorks provides advanced call control capabilities, auto-provisioning and feature integration. The softphone also exposes Service Management, Call History and Contact Directory functionality directly within the client. Bria for BroadWorks enables users to take advantage of BroadSoft's enhanced calling features to improve productivity including:
  • Using one number for all incoming and outgoing calls, regardless of phone (BroadWorks Anywhere)
  • Viewing call history across all devices
  • Connecting easily with colleagues through click-to-call in contact directory
  • Escalating communications from IM, to an audio call, to a video call
  • Monitoring status of a workgroup through BroadWorks' Busy Lamp Field features
  • Using presence to intelligently interact with peers
CounterPath leveraged BroadSoft's Xtended developer program to create Bria for BroadWorks and to enable Bria to work seamlessly within the BroadWorks platform. In addition, a special edition of the softphone will be made available to the BroadSoft Xtended developer community. This will enable developers to integrate Xtended applications with the softphone or use the softphone as part of their application development, testing and solution creation process.

Bria for BroadWorks is available for purchase at the CounterPath online store. CounterPath will drive the promotion of the solution to end users and BroadWorks-powered service providers using BroadSoft's Xtended Marketplace.
