Report: Verizon, AT&T, NGT, Cbeyond, 8x8 Among Top Business VoIP Services Leaders

Verizon FreedomInfonetics Research releases its annual North America Business VoIP Services Leadership Matrix, which analyzes and ranks the top service providers in the North American hosted PBX and business IP connectivity services markets.

"This year the top ten providers in both the IP Centrex and business IP connectivity markets represent a broad mix of incumbents, cable operators, and competitive service providers. This cross-section of providers offers a good set of options for businesses looking at voice over IP services. Service providers hoping to succeed in this fast-growing market, particularly with hosted PBX, need to know that the most critical factors for success are financial stability, proven experience in hosted PBX deployments, and quality service and support. At this stage in this market, the fundamentals are much more important than the bells and whistles, especially when going after larger enterprises," emphasizes Diane Myers, directing analyst for service provider VoIP and IMS at Infonetics Research.

Report: Resurgence in VoIP Subscriber Growth is Forecast to Stabilize Carrier IP Telephony Market in 2010

Dell’Oro Group recently reported that the total carrier IP telephony market is expected to stabilize in 2010 after two years of steep revenue declines. During 2010, VoIP subscriber growth is expected to accelerate due to an improving housing market and aggressively priced bundled service offerings from service providers. In addition, improved economic conditions are likely to bolster network modernization projects that were deferred during the brunt of the recession and associated economic uncertainty. The report indicates that despite expected increases in equipment shipments, the market is expected to contract slightly in 2010 due to price declines.

Report: VoIP Penetration Forecast to Reach 79% of US Businesses by 2013

VoIP penetration among US businesses will increase rapidly over the next few years, reaching 79% by 2013, compared to 42% at the end of 2009, reports In-Stat. This penetration reflects companies having a VoIP solution deployed in at least one location.

“VoIP adopters have a good understanding of the cost savings associated with VoIP, and have oriented their limited budgets to optimizing efficiency and savings by replacing legacy TDM voice solutions,” says David Lemelin, In-Stat analyst. “With businesses opening up fewer new locations than we have seen in recent years, much of this current investment is occurring at headquarters locations where efficiencies and savings can be maximized.”
