VOIP Vendor Survey by iLocus

The economic slowdown has only had a negative short-term impact on carrier VoIP equipment business according to the vendors surveyed by iLocus. Out of a survey of 100 VoIP vendors conducted by iLocus, 66 mentioned that the impact of the slowdown has been negative short-term. Nearly half of these vendors expect a growth of 25 to 50% over the course of 2010.

While Class 4 softswitch business was perceived to be least affected during the slowdown, the overall IMS implementations were worst hit during the same period, according to the survey.

Going forward, the vendors expressed confidence in SIP trunking as the growth segment during 2010, with other bright spots being mobile VoIP and Access VoIP deployments.

The survey results come from the report ‘VoIP Vendor Survey’ published by iLocus today.
