Siemens Offers Two New Devices with VoIP Functionality

Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices announced that it is offering two new Gigaset devices with integrated VoIP functionality to support the next generation of communications. The Gigaset S450 IP combines traditional voice with Internet voice in a single, easy-to-use device. The Gigaset SX762 WLAN dsl gateway offers a single point of entry into the home for telephony, Internet, networking and home entertainment. Both products, key elements of Siemens vision of seamless communication and transparent operations within the home, are expected to be demonstrated at NXTcomm in Chicago during June 18-21.

The Gigaset S450 IP is a hybrid cordless communications system that supports connections for both fixed-line (PSTN) and LAN networks. This allows it to be used as both a conventional analog as well as a digital voice (over IP) phone. Now service providers can easily and conveniently offer all of the benefits of digital voice without the need of a PC. Configuring the device is just as easy as using it. If the phone is not already pre-configured with the provider’s VoIP settings, simple and intuitive menus guide the user to input these settings for rapid configuration.

RAON Digital Unveils New UMPC ‘EVERUN’

RAON Digital unveiled its new UMPC ‘EVERUN’. Last year, RAON digital had introduced the world smallest and lightest UMPC ‘VEGA’ with 6 hrs battery life.

This time, RAON digital maximized portability, usability, connectivity and battery life for ‘EVERUN’ to make it as the true 2nd generation UMPC.

Weighing only 460g and fitting in one hand, the EVERUN offers its exceptional battery life of up to 7 hours (12 hours with a large battery). That world longest battery life comes from its ultra power saving AMD Geode processor and RAON Digital’s technology.

EVERUN enhanced its usability with a QWERTY keypad, optical touch mouse and an auto rotating 4.8” Wide VGA LCD with 800 x 480 native resolution.

As well as built-in 802.11b/g WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless connectivity, EVERUN can integrate HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) or WiMax (Mobile Wibro) modem optionally. The HSDPA module used in EVERUN can support Voice call so that user can use EVERUN like mobile phone as well as VoIP without headset.

Four models will be supplied depending on different storages (HDD or SSD) and CPUs (LX900 or LX800).
