ooVoo Releases New Mac Version

oovoo.jpgooVoo releases its newest version of its video chat service for Mac users. ooVoo 2.1 for Mac now includes features from its PC version creating the most robust, multi-point cross platform video conferencing service available and continues to raise the standards for online video communication. Features in ooVoo Mac 2.1 include the popular Web Call link to video call friends who haven't downloaded ooVoo. Friends simply click on a link to join the call in their web browser. ooVoo Mac users can also now embed video chat rooms in their blogs or web sites and offer their site visitors video conversations anytime. Other additions to ooVoo 2.1 for Mac include a sidebar view mode to allow desktop viewing of documents while on a call.

Tens of millions of video conversations since its launch in 2007, ooVoo enables Mac to PC video calling and continues to develop new ways for its technology to enhance human communication and connection, not replace it.

ooVoo makes it easier to connect and communicate from a distance, adding a "real life" feel to online communication that is vastly superior to email, text and even regular phone calls. An additional benefit is cost savings for people who want to connect with friends, family or colleagues without the expense of travel.

New Mac ooVoo 2.1 features include:
  • Video Chat with Anyone - ooVoo Mac users can use the Web Video Call feature to call "non-ooVoo users". These friends can quickly and easily join an ooVoo video call via a web browser without having ooVoo installed on their computer.
  • Video Call Rooms - a simple way to embed a video chat room in a web site or blog.
  • Sidebar Mode - view your entire desktop screen while on a video call by putting video windows in sidebar mode.
  • Video Effects - now Mac users can enjoy the benefits of customizing video effects to enhance their video chat sessions and recorded video messages.
The ooVoo 2.1 features add to the range of features already offered through ooVoo's free and subscription plans, which include:
  • Up to six-way online video calls
  • Video chat rooms
  • Video email messages
  • Video call recording
  • High resolution video
  • Multi-party phone and video calls -- up to six video and six phone participants at once -- including landlines and cell phones in the U.S. and Canada
  • File transfer of files up to 25MB
  • Video effects
  • Text chat
