Boingo Extends Mobile Wi-Fi Service to Windows Mobile 6 Devices

boingo_logo.jpgBoingo Wireless released a version of the Boingo Mobile Wi-Fi software that supports Windows Mobile 6.0 devices. With Boingo Mobile, users can automatically connect to Boingo’s network of tens of thousands of hotspots across the globe with an increasing number of mobile devices. Boingo Mobile, which is also available for Nokia S60 and Internet Tablet devices, has supported Windows Mobile 5.0 since Feb. 2007.

Using the latest version of Boingo Mobile, owners of Wi-Fi enabled Windows Mobile devices – including the HTC TyTN II, HP iPAQ 510, and the TMobile Dash – can maximize the networking capabilities of their handset by accessing Boingo’s worldwide hotspot network any time they’re out and about.

Boingo Mobile software automatically identifies Boingo-enabled hotspots and authenticates users with their Boingo account. Unlimited access to those hotspots is available for a flat rate of only $7.95, €5.95, or £3.95 per month.

Boingo will demonstrate Boingo Mobile on Windows Mobile 6 devices -- as well as Sony Ericsson and Nokia smartphones -- at the following GSMA Mobile World Congress locations:
  • Feb. 10: The Showstoppers media event at the Hotel Majestic Barcelona from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
  • Feb. 11-14: The Boingo Wireless hospitality suite at Fira de Barcelona, Hall 4/Floor4/Hospitality Suite 30, by appointment only. To schedule a demonstration, contact Baochi Nguyen at bnguyen@boingo.com.
Boingo Mobile subscribers can use high-bandwidth Wi-Fi access for Internet-enabled services and applications such as wireless VoIP calls, emails with large attachments, streaming video, and news broadcasts. It provides unlimited high-speed Internet access with no premium charges or per-minute fees at all Boingo Mobile locations, including the places road warriors need it the most – airports, hotels, restaurants and convention centers worldwide.

Boingo Mobile is currently available for devices running Windows Mobile 6.0, Windows Mobile 5.0, Symbian S60 3rd Edition, and Linux. It has also been ported to Symbian UIQ and BREW. Users can download Boingo Mobile software from http://mobile.boingo.com/download/.
