Partnership to Create Social Media Software with VoIP Softphone

text-partnership.jpgYFonGlobal and CounterPath announced that the companies have entered into a strategic partnership to integrate CounterPath's award-winning softphone technology into wyndstorm - YFonGlobal's social network and social media product offering.

"By partnering with CounterPath in integrating their calling technology, wyndstorm customers and community members will enjoy the most advanced, secure and collaborative communication environment available on the market today," said Marian Sabety, President and CEO of YFonGlobal. "YFonGlobal is thrilled to launch this latest version of wyndstorm, which is among the first platforms in the social network industry to offer integrated voice/video calling and Instant Messaging capabilities, enabling customers to offer a more dynamic and interactive communication experience to their members."

As a result of this collaboration, members of private-labeled wyndstorm social networks will be able to engage in Instant Messaging, and make and receive voice and video calls with other wyndstorm community members worldwide. Users will also have an option to make international voice and video calls to people outside the wyndstorm community. Popular CounterPath softphone features including Caller ID, Conferencing, Call Waiting, Voice Mail, Call Logs and Do Not Disturb, will be included in the integrated product. The new capabilities will be available to users on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

"CounterPath's collaboration with YFonGlobal presents the marketplace with another example of the increasing convergence of social media and collaborative desktop applications featuring high-quality voice and video calling," said Mark Klagenberg, Director of Sales at CounterPath. "The integration of our feature-rich softphone takes interactive online collaboration to a dynamic new level, significantly adding to the value of the user experience. We look forward to working with YFonGlobal in delivering advanced communications to members of the communities enabled by their wyndstorm product."
