JAJAH to Add Click to Call to Plaxo Smart Address Book

Plaxo, Inc., creator of the smart address book, today announced Plaxo Click to Call which integrates the JAJAH calling service into Plaxo's flagship offering. Plaxo members can now initiate a low-cost call to almost anywhere in the world by simply clicking on any phone number in their Plaxo smart address book. The integrated service does not require either the caller or the recipient to have headphones, microphones, or a high quality broadband connection, and callers do not need to download and setup Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software. The partnership enhances the utility and convenience of the Plaxo service, and provides the company with a new revenue-generating offering.

Previously, most low-cost computer calling solutions were accessible only to the technically savvy with a broadband Internet connection. Using the joint Plaxo/JAJAH solution, making calls is now even simpler than making a traditional landline call -- and at a significantly lower cost.

JAJAH enables phone-to-phone connections with a quick three-step process; 1) Caller enters both their own phone number (landline or mobile) and the desired destination number (landline or mobile) on www.JAJAH.com, 2) The caller's phone rings, and 3) After the caller picks up, the recipient's phone rings and JAJAH connects the call. Now, through tight integration into the Plaxo smart address book, the easiest way to make a call just got easier. Plaxo Click to Call offers members all the benefits of JAJAH, with the additional benefit of not having to remember or type in any phone numbers. Plaxo members always know they're calling the correct number due to the automatic updates that occur in the Plaxo address book as people change their information such as a new job or a new phone.

"JAJAH's innovative and widely popular service is in line with our mission to help people stay connected to customers, colleagues, and friends," said Peter Lester, vice president of strategic partnerships for Plaxo. "Our smart address book already provides members with a single, accurate source of contact information that is available across numerous applications and accounts. Our address book is now even smarter, enabling people to connect at the click of a button with low-cost calls."

"We are excited to partner with Plaxo for two reasons," said JAJAH co-founder Roman Scharf. "First, through the click-to-call integration with Plaxo, we can offer users even greater convenience. And second, partnering with Plaxo gets our offering in front of a user base that's 10 million and growing rapidly."

As part of the partnership, Plaxo also will power the address books of all JAJAH members. Later this year, JAJAH will build on Plaxo's Application Program Interface (API) to introduce the capabilities of the Plaxo smart address book to their members. JAJAH members will soon have direct and integrated access to the Plaxo smart address book, providing JAJAH members with a way to seamlessly transition between their work, home, and mobile devices, and have accurate information wherever they may be.
