Andy Abramson and Ted Cohen Join SightSpeed Advisory Board

SightSpeed, the leading provider of free and premium Internet video and voice communications services (VVoIP and VoIP) has announced the appointment of digital media veteran Ted Cohen and integrated marketing communications executive Andy Abramson to their Advisory Board.

"Ted and Andy's addition to our advisory board broadens the level of expertise and insight that a growing company like SightSpeed needs to have in order to remain ahead in an industry sector that is rapidly emerging and evolving," said Peter Csathy, SightSpeed CEO. "Both bring with them extensive industry insight and understanding along with a passion for driving new and emerging technologies to the forefront. This underscores SightSpeed's commitment to extending beyond being the leading IP-based communications company it is today and moving the company more deeply into video-centric community and commerce as well."

Cohen is Senior Vice President of Digital Development & Distribution for EMI Music, where he oversees worldwide digital business development for the record company, which includes labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis. Under Cohen's guidance, EMI has led the industry with its initiatives in new technologies and new business models.

"Video over the Internet, be it for personal or business communications, is one of the looming platforms that will shape the way people interact with one another online," said Cohen. "SightSpeed's already established platform and community of users makes them an ideal candidate to capture the hearts and minds of those audiences."

Cohen is largely viewed as one of the most forward thinking evangelizers in the digital media industry. A thirty-year veteran of the entertainment world, the Los Angeles, Calif., resident has consulted on new media and technology to Amazon.com, Microsoft, Universal Studios New Media, DreamWorks Records, Liquid Audio, Wherehouse Records/Checkout.com and various other entertainment, technology and new media organizations. Cohen also has held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media.

Abramson, CEO of Comunicano, Inc., a Del Mar, Calif.-based integrated marketing and public relations agency is also one of the most respected commentators of the subject of next generation communications. In addition to overseeing his agency's client related activities he also authors one of the most read VoIP Blogs, Andy Abramson's VoIPWatch and, since 1998, has served as co-host of KenRadio's "World Technology RoundUp," which is heard on CBS Radio and downloaded by over 200,000 listeners per day.

"Just as VoIP was the hot topic on everyone's mind last year, this year personal video, as a means for communicating over the Internet, will finally emerge as a real communications medium," said Abramson. "With their advanced technical platform, significant experience with video conferencing and the growing demand for easy to use consumer solutions, SightSpeed is poised to be the public's first choice in video and voice communications, community and commerce."

Abramson parallels Cohen's background in technology, consumer, B2B, sports and entertainment marketing with a career that spans 32 years. Under his direction, Comunicano has successfully guided the market entry efforts for private companies as well as reshaped the marketing communications efforts for companies in transition. Prior to founding Comunicano in 1992 Abramson was a core member of the marketing team that grew The Upper Deck Company and a member of the account management team at Foote, Cone & Belding's/IMPACT-Los Angeles. He also spent 14 years in professional sports team marketing management with the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Wings, with whom he began his Public Relations career at the age of 14.
