Mitel, the trusted innovator of IP communications solutions and applications, announced that Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska has selected it to implement an advanced IP communications system throughout its campus. This is the first major deployment of VoIP in the state of Nebraska.

"Our old system was due to expire and the cost to upgrade and continue with a Centrex system would increase significantly," said Wayne State College chief technology officer Denis Linster. "We selected the Mitel solution because we wanted a state-of-the-art technology system that we had full control over and that offered a migration strategy that would give us the ability to deploy advanced applications as they are developed."

Fusion Telecommunications International, Inc. announced that it filed a patent application with the United States Patent Office for its Directed SIP Peer-to- Peer ("DSP") technology, acquired by Fusion in February 2006. The patent application describes a system that Fusion plans to utilize to provide its free service between SIP devices.

CommTel Network Solutions Australia, a value added re-seller of Nokia's network solutions, has signed an agreement for the supply and implementation of Nokia broadband DSL solutions and related services to the Soul group of companies all operating in Australia. Deliveries commenced in January 2006 and the system will be up and running during April 2006.

AudioCodes, a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, announced that its media gateways have been selected for the Russian market by CompTek, a leading Russian distributor of networking and telecommunications equipment.

DVUSD, which covers nearly 400 square miles and encompasses 37 schools, deployed Nortel's Communication Server 1000 system to provide IP phone support throughout the entire district. With a single CS 1000 system, Voice over IP service is provided to all facilities throughout the district.

Covergence, the first company to deliver a unified security and management solution for services based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), announced that WorldxChange Communications has chosen Covergence's Eclipse( solution to secure the subscriber edge of its voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service offering, while equipping it with the ability to grow its subscriber base by offering new services without raising its rates.

Clear-Com, the global leader of trusted intercom solutions, announced SoftVoICE 1.0, intercom software for use on standard personal computers running Windows XP. SoftVoICE works in partnership with VoICE (Voice over Internet Communications Equipment), a 1-RU 4-way VoIP interface frame that connects remote users seamlessly and efficiently over low-cost house LANs (local-area networks), private WANs (wide-area networks), and other communication links using Internet protocols. Each VoICE frame enables an Eclipse Matrix to convert four of its physical station ports into SoftVoICE connections.

JDSU announced that its widely deployed IP network troubleshooting and data analysis platforms, JDSU's DA-3400 and DA-3600A, can now perform VoIP call quality monitoring on high capacity networks. The DA-3400 is able to support 8,000 simultaneous calls and the DA-3600A can support 64,000 calls, establishing them as an industry leader providing extremely accurate and exceptional quality measurements when network load or utilization is at its highest.

One Connect IP, a leading regional Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider, announced its acquisition of ZiaNet, the largest privately held Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the state of New Mexico. One Connect IP currently serves business and residential customers throughout the Mountain West Region and with this acquisition, the Company will immediately be able to deliver its hosted VoIP services to an additional 30,000 business and residential customers throughout New Mexico.

VoX Communications Corp., eLEC Communications Corp.'s wholesale and retail provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services nationwide, announced that American Cable Services, an independent cable operator located in Ocala, Fla., is deploying VoX services as the broadband phone component of a new "triple play" offer, which also includes cable TV and high speed Internet. The offering is first being deployed in Little Harbor, a coastal resort community of 2,300 residences in Ruskin, Fla.

Two additional alarm monitoring companies have chosen UHS Systems, Inc. to provide wholesale, Internet Protocol (IP)-based alarm monitoring service to their customers. The contracts make IP-based alarm monitoring more widely available in the United States. Terms of both contracts were undisclosed. UHS Systems offers broadband IP security alarm services, video event verification, live remote video viewing and digital wireless back-up solutions to its customers, and is the American subsidiary of the Australian broadband company UHS Systems Pty Ltd.

JAJAH, the world's fastest-growing VoIP company, announced that it has closed a Series B financing round led by Globespan Capital, a leading global venture capital firm with a core competence in business development within the Asian market. In addition, JAJAH announced that Globespan Capital's Venky Ganesan will take a seat on JAJAH's board of directors. The investment amount is undisclosed.

UPC's telephony deployment count has doubled over the last 15 months and has been driven by the accelerated growth of UPC's VoIP (Voice over IP) based Digital Telephony service.
