Nuvoiz Launches Enterprise VoIP Softphone at DEMO 07

Nuvoiz launches the company's first products, the Nuvoiz SoftPhone and the Nuvoiz VoIP Network Controller at the DEMO 07 conference in Palm Desert, California.

"Nuvoiz's CEO and founder Jin Koh has a focused and passionate vision for VoIP in the enterprise, particularly mobile VoIP, and we are thrilled to have him launch Nuvoiz's first products here with us," said Chris Shipley, executive producer of DEMO.

Enterprise Solutions for VoIP

While gaining in popularity among consumers, VoIP in enterprise settings is often problematic. In the enterprise, VoIP must meet more extensive user and network management requirements especially in the areas of mobility and integration into enterprise networks.

Nuvoiz believes it has successfully addressed these requirements with a complete VoIP system that finally enables wide scale adoption of VoIP in the enterprise.

"A consumer product like Skype just doesn't work for the enterprise," said Chong-Jin Koh, founder and CEO of Nuvoiz, Inc. "Enterprise users want a VoIP application with terrific sound quality that is IM-based, intuitive, and mobile, while enterprise IT executives demand a scalable, secure, and easy-to-deploy VoIP system. Nuvoiz is the first to deliver on both imperatives."

Partners Combine VoIP and Internet Security

text-partnership.jpgNatural Convergence announced a partnership with BorderWare Technologies. The partners are working together to provide simple, scalable security solutions tailored for service providers to target the Small Business Market.

According to Eastern Management Group, in the United States there are 32 million key systems, with the average age of key systems being 12 years. This means that key systems are ripe for replacement and a replacement wave is quickly gaining momentum in the SBM.

As there are different types of service providers who are beginning to address the huge and largely underserved SBM, a one-size-fits-all approach neither works for small businesses nor for service providers. Regardless of the size of service provider, solutions must be reliable and secure and, more importantly, must fit each of their deployment models.

VoIP Peering Federations Fuel the Market

The Information & Communications Technology Group at Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce its Exclusive 2007 Quarterly Webinar on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. CST / 1:00 p.m. EST.

The foundation for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) peering resides in the belief that there is no reason for traffic to leave the Internet protocol (IP) network. If traffic must be handed off to the public switched telephone network (PSTN), then VoIP-based providers are disadvantaged by not being able to offer certain services such as video calling and are consequently forced to compete based on pricing rather than features. Moreover, additional money is being paid out to time-division multiplexing (TDM) based service providers for interconnection and toll charges.

Highlights of the briefing include a discussion of current trends and benefits associated with VoIP peering, the VoIP ecosystem, ENUM and major market participants.
