States Approve Frontier’s Acquisition of Verizon Wireline Operations

Frontier Communications announced its pending acquisition of Verizon Communications’ local wireline operations has received approvals from the California Public Utilities Commission, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, and the Public Service Commission of South Carolina. The transaction, announced May 13, 2009, includes Verizon’s local exchange businesses in 14 states, including parts of California, and certain customer relationships for long distance services, broadband Internet access and broadband video.

Telesphere to Acquire VoIP Services of Unity Business Networks

text-partnership.jpgTelesphere has entered into an agreement to acquire the VoIP services business of Unity Business Networks, a fast growing provider of IP services with market presence in Denver, Portland, Ore. and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The transaction requires regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the third or fourth quarter of this year. Following the transaction, end-user customer services for both companies will be marketed under the Telesphere brand name.

Telekenex has reached agreement with One Connect IP to offer One Connect IP existing VoIP customers a migration path to Telekenex Hosted VoIP service. Telekenex Hosted VoIP is a fully hosted and managed business-grade telephony solution with no up-front capital expenditure.

The goal is to provide a seamless transition and maintain service uptime for One Connect IP customers without losing any of their current features. As a result, One Connect IP customers can keep all of their existing onsite equipments and can maintain all their existing PBX features. Additionally, customers migrated over to the Telekenex Hosted VoIP service will take advantage of the larger range of services that Telekenex offers, over a larger private national footprint.
