Free Version of the SIPWright Proxy Server

Estacado Systems, a provider of real-time communication software products and services, announced a freely available version of its SIPWright Proxy Server. This release, Version 2.0, leverages a highly customizable message-processing framework to provide a general purpose SIP server that is easy to install, manage, and use. The server can provide SIP proxy, registrar, and redirect services.

"This proxy incorporates the most robust and standards-compliant SIP implementation available today," said Ajay Deo, CEO of Estacado Systems. "This free release gives educational institutions, carrier test labs, and enterprise IT departments a solid, easy-to-use building block for their networks."

Version 2.0 of the SIPWright Proxy Server improves support for multiple network interfaces, provides richer routing logic, and offers SOAP interfaces for configuration and provisioning. The free download includes a provisioning client for use with the Apache open-source HTTP server.

"The extensible processing framework lets us rapidly add logic for querying other systems using new protocols or newly-standardized interfaces," said Robert Sparks VP of R&D with Estacado Systems. "For instance, we can quickly insert a SOAP or Diameter query into the process path." SOAP, the Simple Object Access Protocol, is used in systems such as those specified in the NENA I2 VoIP Architecture for Enhanced 9-1-1.

Ease of customization sets Estacado Systems' SIPWright product line apart, and raises the bar in an industry dealing with rapidly changing needs and evolving standards from multiple organizations. In addition to the Proxy Server, the SIPWright line includes the TURN/STUN Server, the Presence Server, and the MSRP Relay Server. Estacado Systems licenses customized versions of the SIPWright products and provides support services.
