NexTone Named One of IT Week's Top 50 Technology Innovators of 2005

NexTone Communications, the leader in distributed and intelligent session management solutions for VoIP and other real-time IP services, announced the company has been named one of IT Week's Top 50 Technology Innovators of 2005. NexTone received the award based on its successful session management technology deployments for customers worldwide.

NexTone's session management technology delivers scalable control of real-time IP services such as VoIP and other digital media applications including instant messaging, chat, and video across the IP network. NexTone is the leading supplier of session management solutions with more than 370 carrier and enterprise customers worldwide. These NexTone-based production networks carry over 50 percent of all long-distance VoIP traffic in the world.

"NexTone's session management solutions allow service providers and the enterprise to treat voice like an Internet application," said Jon Arnold, principal of J Arnold & Associates. "NexTone's innovative technology is enabling the rapid adoption of new convergent applications and services that facilitate collaboration and interaction among an increasingly mobile and distributed community of users."

"We're honored by the recognition from the editors of IT Week as one of the companies offering the year's most innovative technologies. This award further demonstrates NexTone's global market leadership and strength with our customers in the VoIP market worldwide," said Dan Dearing, vice president of marketing for NexTone. "As the real-time IP services industry matures, NexTone is providing customers with the technologies that will allow them to grow and scale to meet market demands."

The IT Week Top 50 Technology Innovators of 2005 award recognizes companies spanning many diverse fields of business including networking, security, imaging software, and business software, that are developing today's most innovative technologies. IT Week, published by Possibility Media, is the only weekly IT magazine to electronically deliver the latest IT news to over 100,000 qualified subscribers each week.

Ken Durham, editor of IT Week magazine, explained that the list had evolved from the magazine's observations about the new technologies it featured during the last year and that although it was a hard pick, he was very proud to be able to showcase the great work the 50 companies have done in the magazine.

IT Week's Top 50 Technology Innovators is NexTone's fourth award this year. The company was named a SuperQuest Award winner based on its iView Management System (iVMS) deployment with New Global Telecom's IPartition service. NexTone was also named to the pulver 100 list for the fourth year in a row and was named a Service Provider Weekly Top 50 Vendor in October.
