VoIP Phones Used For Microsoft’s Exchange Server 2007

snom technology, announced that during the VON Europe show in Berlin, Germany and SIMO in Madrid, Spain, snom technology will be demonstrating the compatibility of its SIP based VoIP phones with the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

The security provided by SIP-based (Session Initiation Protocol) IP communications offers a complex, protected, and unassailable communications infrastructure. Both snom and Microsoft customers benefit from the increased security measures that are put into place when using a SIP-based infrastructure.

Users can gain complete access to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 services and hear messages with the simple touch of a key on a snom phone. The automatic speech recognition remotely controls all features and provides users with the ability to clearly listen to e-mails, journal entries, contact data, and calendar entries through the phone.

“snom is setting a new standard in the world of professional office communication with the interconnection of IP phones and the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007,” said Michael Knieling, CFO and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales for snom. “This interoperability offers a great deal of advantages to consumers as well as SIP based IP communication.”

The test environment was made available in cooperation with Berlin-based ITaCS GmbH on the basis of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The standardized SIP Protocol is used to effect the interconnection between the Exchange Server 2007 and the VoIP phone system.
