Challenger Mobile Enhances Its White-Label Mobile VoIP Platform

Challenger Mobile announces enhancements to its platform that help mobile operators, wireless ISPs, and related service providers deliver their own branded Mobile VoIP services to subscribers, while enjoying a fast time-to-market and a low cost of entry.

Challenger's white-label Mobile VoIP platform allows subscribers to place calls from their mobiles over the Internet, using a WiFi, GPRS or 3G connection. In addition to core Internet telephony capabilities, Challenger's platform supports remote mobile handset configuration, call detail record support, and flexible billing system integration. For customers choosing Challenger's optional hosting service, the platform also includes attractive call termination capabilities and rates.

Mobile Voice over Internet Protocol (mVoIP) allows mobile phone users to make low cost worldwide Internet calls via WiFi, GRPS or 3G network technologies. Traditional VoIP phone services, such as Skype or Vonage, are typically delivered through a personal computer and LAN and are gaining worldwide acceptance -- especially as a replacement for expensive international calling. Mobile VoIP represents the logical next step for this technology -- shifting calls and functionality from wired handsets and PCs, to the mobile phone platform. Given the exploding popularity of mobile communications and the associated high-cost of international mobile calls, mVoIP is poised for rapid adoption by operators and subscribers alike.

"Mobile operators around the globe are recognizing the tremendous market opportunity associated with being on the leading edge of Mobile VoIP, and its inherent ability to drive subscriber utilization and ARPU," said Challenger Mobile CEO Christina Sundman. "We recognize this opportunity as well, and believe our white-label strategy is the best approach for delivering our innovative mVoIP platform to mobile subscribers around the globe."
