RedSky and Intrado Join Forces for VoIP E911 Solutions

RedSky Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of automated E911 solutions to the enterprise, announced that it has joined forces with Intrado Inc., a global provider of integrated data and telecommunications solutions and leading provider of VoIP 9-1-1 services, to add Intrado V9-1-1 for Enterprise to RedSky's Enterprise E911 Location Information Services offering.

RedSky will pair Intrado's service with its award-winning E911 Manager, the industry's first solution that automatically tracks the physical location of IP-based phone users regardless of where they are located. The rapid adoption of VoIP by business, government and education customers has created the need for enhanced 911 (E911) solutions that are extremely flexible. With today's IP soft phones, users can be working inside a company facility, traveling and using a soft phone to access their company's private network, or working remotely using company-assigned IP phone equipment.

"E911 Manager is the only solution available that makes it possible for organizations with IP phone systems to automatically track the location of these phones and deliver the precise location information of a caller to emergency responders," said Tony Maier, president of RedSky. "By adding the address validation, call routing and call delivery capabilities of Intrado's V9-1-1 for Enterprise solution, we now offer the same level of E911 protection to nomadic soft phone users by automatically identifying them -- wherever they are -- and routing the 911 call and location information to the proper PSAP for the fastest response possible."

RedSky has been delivering its world-class E911 Manager software to Fortune 500 and mid-cap enterprises for many years, enabling full compliance for traditional and IP end-points with existing and pending E911 laws. While E911 Manager solves the problem of automatically identifying the location of a caller, Intrado V9-1-1 for Enterprise addresses the challenge of routing determination and delivery of 911 calls made from nomadic phones to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in the appropriate geographic area. The combined solution is consistent with the functional recommendations of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) i2 VoIP architecture for Enhanced 9-1-1 Services.

"We are excited about working with RedSky to deliver a comprehensive solution to the enterprise," said Stephen Meer, Intrado chief technology officer and co-founder. "Together we have an offer that meets all aspects of 911 protection for VoIP deployment."
