Pac-West to Serve the VoIP Service Provider Market Nationally

Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., a leading provider of traditional and next- generation voice communications services, announced the availability of its East Coast SuperPOP to support its nationwide expansion plan. The first phase of expansion will enable service providers to provide communications services to more than 50% of the U.S. population in 2006. Pac-West is leveraging Switch and Data's comprehensive marketplace of providers in the New York Metropolitan Area to take advantage of the density of networks and existing VoIP service providers.

"The deployment of our East Coast SuperPOP is a key milestone in our network expansion plan," commented Hank Carabelli, Pac-West's President and CEO. "Working with best in class partners is critical for maintaining our reputation as one of the highest quality, nationwide infrastructure providers."

Pac-West's nationwide expansion will serve the needs of VoIP Providers, Wireless Broadband Providers, Internet Service Providers, Carriers and other Next-Generation Service Providers. Pac-West is expanding its coverage area and service offerings to create one of the most comprehensive, single source solutions available for bridging traditional circuit-switched and next- generation IP-based services.

"We are ecstatic about having earned the right to be a critical component of Pac-West's SuperPOP network," stated Keith Olsen, President and CEO at Switch and Data. "We are also confident that Pac-West's decision to do business in our facilities can only add additional momentum to our VoIP marketplace."

Switch and Data's 60 Hudson data center was chosen after a rigorous evaluation process by Pac-West. The decision was based on Switch and Data's reliability and infrastructure, high density of carriers (VoIP providers, ISPs, carriers, wireless providers and broadband providers), and their technical resource competencies. In addition, Switch and Data's national footprint of 34 data centers in 23 markets allows Pac-West to efficiently continue its expansion with one provider with a nationwide, experienced on- site technical team.
