AT&T CallVantage VoIP Service Experiencing Outage

It appears that AT&T's CallVantage VoIP service has been experiencing an outage across the country for some time now. Users who spoke to AT&T's CV support were told there was a "huge outage". At 11am EDT they had not diagnosed the problem yet.

Area's affected are numberous and you can keep up with the latest news at dslreports.com to find out when area's are coming back online.

Back online now after about six hour downtime.

Checking the service advisory page:

"AT&T CallVantage®
Service Bulletins

Resolution
The Network Outage reported on 10/12/07 has successfully been resolved."

This information is not very helpful, especially on 3/20/2008, after a major outage. The lack of response to phone calls (please call back when the service office is open) and lack of timely response to emails (we're still working on it), three hours after today's outage has been resolved is pretty abysmal by today's standards.

Looks like they fell down on the support job, with no phone support available, and, guess what, a promised two day response time to email support requests.

Unfortunately, they have retained the old Ma Bell attitude: "We don't care, we don't have to, we're the phone company."
