International Headline Speakers Announced for CeBIT Australia 2007

Australia's largest business trade show will play host to a number of internationally acclaimed business leaders in 2007. CeBIT Australia, to be held in Sydney's Darling Harbour from May 1-3, will feature keynotes and speakers from some of the worlds leading minds:

  • Mozilla Corporation USA: Ms. Mitchell Baker; President
  • IBM Corporation, USA: Mary Ann Fisher, Linux Program Executive, Public Sector,
  • Sun Microsystems, USA: Simon Phipps, Chief Open Source Officer
  • Digium, USA: Mark Spencer, Chairman & CTO
  • Salesforce.com, USA, Jim Steele , Worldwide President
  • From Germany: Christian Wullf Minister-President of Lower Saxony
  • From Sweden: Professor Hans Rosling , Professor of International Health;
  • From Israel: Dr Isaac Shariv , former CEO, Yeda Research and Development Co.
New in 2007 will be a number of specialist conferences, which will build upon the success of last year's e-Government forum. Specialist conferences in Open Source, e -Government, e- Finance, e-Marketing, VoIP and IP Comms, have already attracted some of the worlds leading voices in these areas to speak. The CeBIT Connect Keynote Series has also been and will host world-leading experts in emerging technologies destined to change the traditional industry landscape. They will share with our corporate business audience insights into their major ICT implementations and initiatives, and deliver global knowledge. This daylong event on Tuesday 1 May 2007 includes a high-powered executive luncheon and business-networking environment for you to engage in.

In Open Source, topics such as "the Zen of Free", 'Open Innovation' and 'Open Standards' have been chosen by speakers such as IBM USA's Open Source expert Mary Ann Fisher, and Sun Microsystems USA's Chief Open Source Operator, Simon Phipps and renowned Open Source author and Berkeley professor, Steve Weber.

Back for 2007, the e-Government conference will be held again in conjunction with AGIMO and will feature the worlds business and government leaders talking about issues such as Citizen services, Collaborative/Networked government and IT standards and systems. Also new for 2007: CeBIT Australia 2007 features 25+ different technology areas on the show floor, each with its own dedicated web site which will be up to date with show info, blogs, industry news and relevant materials. There will be tech theatres on the show floor, and building upon 2006, there will now also be hands on workshops on a variety of technologies. The show is sure to grow from our record 30,000 visitor attendances in 2006. Managing Director, Jackie Taranto, said, "We are thrilled to be hosting such exciting speakers for 2007. They will all share with us such a wealth of international expertise, and give insights to Australia's business professionals in a number of important areas such as e - Government and Open Source."
