Free IP Handsets for UK Small Businesses Using VoIP Thanks to Cloudnet

Cloudnet is giving away free Grandstream internet phones and Siemens Cordless DECT business phones to help small companies to benefit from the low call costs of VoIP through professional pre-configured internet phone handsets.

For a 10 person company, for instance, Cloudnet predicts that with its free phone offer, typical savings are between £700 - £2,000 for equivalent VoIP handsets.

Cloudnet is offering new subscribers to its Cloudnet Connect service, free handsets until 1 January 2011.

Telefonica/O2 Launches First JAJAH Service

The first of these services -- O2 Global Friends -- gives O2 customers in Germany the ability to make international calls by dialing a local number. It is the first time a top tier operator has launched IP-based mobile services to its customers, and comes just six months after its acquisition of JAJAH.

Truphone Announces Agreements with Vodafone Netherlands and Orange in Spain

DIGITALK Replaces Open Source Voice Over Broadband at KMS

KMS have been operating a residential primary line replacement service using Open SER, an open source technology for its voice service as part of its cable TV, internet and voice packages. However, the limitations of features and operational expenses of integration, maintenance and management have proved a costly overhead.

The integration of the DIGITALK SIP Application server allows KMS to offer a full class 5 feature set with DIGITALK’s Broadband Telephony application and consolidate all management and maintenance onto a single platform footprint, including DIGITALK’s integral Session Border Controller.

VocalTec Receives Order of Around $1M from Russian Tier-1 Operator
