VoIP Provider Aptela Launches the Acrobits Softphone for the iPhone

Aptela announces the latest addition to the company’s Aptela AnywhereSM Apps mobility suite, the availability of the Acrobits Softphone. This announcement comes on the heels of Aptela’s launch of Aptela v5.0, the company’s new platform that’s been architected to give small businesses and entrepreneurs the tools required to intuitively manage and take control of their business communications.

Aptela is partnering with Acrobits to offer this powerful Mobile VoIP capability, which allows mobile professionals to make and receive VoIP calls utilizing the Aptela service - anywhere/anytime. Mobile VoIP enables iPhone users to make calls over the Internet or via a WiFi hotspot rather than through their mobile carrier voice network - thus offering significant savings to users who can minimize the usage of their mobile minutes and take advantage of free “on-net” calling to other Aptela customers.

Acrobits is the latest addition to Aptela’s Anywhere Apps, a suite of software extensions that extends Aptela functionality to popular applications, software and devices. Aptela’s Acrobits Softphone enables customers to download a pre-configured client so they can immediately place calls over the Aptela network. Customer benefits include:
  • Internet Calling – Acrobits lets you use your mobile phone as a business extension, eliminating the need to burn up precious mobile minutes when you call the office or other Aptela customers.
  • International Calling – International calls placed to the United States from a customer’s iPhone will be treated like local calls and routed through Aptela.
  • Extended Coverage – Even if an iPhone user is in a place that isn't covered by the cellular network, Aptela customers can use their Acrobits Softphone to make calls as long as a WiFi hotspot is available.
  • Contact Integration – Your Aptela contacts will be pulled into your iPhone contact list for easy access and complete contact integration.
  • Quickdial Panel – Dial up to 12 contacts with just one tap of a finger.
  • Simultaneous Registration of Multiple SIP accounts – You can have multiple accounts signed in and receive incoming calls and/or switch the account used for outgoing calls without leaving the Softphone keypad.
  • Push Notifications – Receive Push Notifications for incoming calls on your iPhone when the Acrobits Softphone is not running. Just tap to open the Softphone and answer the call.
  • Business Presence – When using your Acrobits Softphone to make calls from your Aptela account, your outbound Caller ID show the number you have set in your account. Regardless of where you are physically working, you remain connected to your business.
  • Call History - All calls made via the Aptela SIP Account are logged in your Aptela call history for tracking and reporting.
  • Anywhere Menu – While on a mobile VoIP call, use the Aptela Anywhere menu to forward the call to your Aptela voicemail, an extension or a phone number.
  • Call Recording – You can record calls directly on your mobile phone using the Aptela Anywhere menu. Review and manage recordings within the Aptela User Dashboard.
