iskoot_logo2.gifiSkoot has been selected for the UIQ Alliance partner program. iSkoot brings to the UIQ community an innovative, carrier-friendly mobile-to-VoIP service that empowers users to call or chat with contacts and colleagues across the globe anytime on their mobile handsets. UIQ Technology, owned by Sony Ericsson and Motorola, provides a customizable user interface and development platform that is pre-integrated with Symbian OS, the leading industry standard operating system for smartphones. As a member of UIQ's invitation-only partner program, iSkoot strengthens its relationships with the major players in the UIQ community and gains unique access to advanced technical support and joint marketing ventures with UIQ Technology.

iSkoot utilizes the existing mobile network infrastructure to route Skype calls through the voice channel. The iSkoot mobile solution works without any need for PCs, special hardware, custom phones or WiFi hot spots. Using the iSkoot Mobile client, users on any cellular network have the ability to make mobile-to-VoIP calls on their mobile phone at the same cost as making a local call (depending on mobile user's call plan, normal airtime and data charges may apply).
