Skype Product Family Grows with New Webcam

USRobotics, announced the addition of the USR9640 USR Mini Cam for Skype to its Skype product family. The webcam joins the company’s other Skype products, including USB handsets, a speakerphone, and the cordless dual phone and accessory handset.

“With our webcam and headset, Skype users can now make free video calls to friends and family around the world, as well as share recorded video and snapshots,” says Anurag Batta, USRobotics Product Manager for VoIP. “The camera is a natural extension of our Skype product line and continues our development of easy to use, reliable, Skype certified products.”

Optimized for Skype, the USR Mini Cam features true 1.3 megapixel capture capability and full motion video at up to 30 frames per second. The webcam supports new codecs that enable high quality video from a small device. The camera automatically adjusts to low-light conditions, and includes image tuning options such as brightness, saturation, contrast, and horizontal and vertical reversing. Face-tracking auto-focus, digital zoom, and a full 70-degree viewing angle, make the USR Mini Cam the ideal camera for both desktop and laptop video communications.

Designed for maximum flexibility, the USR Mini Cam can be positioned on a laptop or desktop, can clip to a flat screen monitor, and can even stand on a table top. The included headset features HiFi Audio support for fuller, more realistic sound and is tuned to provide richer bass and crisper treble, allowing for equal clarity between a wide variety of different voices, accents, and articulations.

The USR9640 USR Mini Cam with Headset will be available in January for 39.99 USD (MSRP).
