US LEC MegaPOP VoIP Chosen by SunRocket

US LEC Corp., a full-service provider of IP, data and voice solutions to businesses and enterprise organizations throughout the Eastern United States, announced its agreement to provide MegaPOP VoIP services to Vienna, Va.-based SunRocket, one of the fastest-growing providers of residential Internet phone service.

"SunRocket chose US LEC's MegaPOP VoIP for its ability to provide a customized solution to help deliver its all-inclusive residential Internet phone service to mainstream America," said Russ Intravartolo, president of Internet Telephony and ISP Operations for US LEC. "VoIP Service Providers (VSPs) continue to find MegaPOP VoIP a reliable, nationally-available solution to provide Internet phone service and service management tools, and Internet access to their customers."

US LEC will supply SunRocket with a customized MegaPOP VoIP solution to meet the service provider's unique needs including phone numbers available across the nation and origination access to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).

Offered throughout 30 states and Washington, D.C., US LEC's MegaPOPVoIP continues to evolve into one of the leading solutions for VoIP wholesale services and enables US LEC to provide the full suite of services VoIP providers need to deliver Internet phone service. In addition to MegaPOP VoIP, US LEC also offers MegaPOP Dial Internet access in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Launched in 1996 as a wholesale Internet access product for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), MegaPOP continues to grow into a diverse product suite that capitalizes on its nationwide coverage and technological flexibility. With US LEC's understanding of IP-based services, the addition of VoIP to the MegaPOP network was a natural extension of the product suite and now provides another tool to its ISP customers to help them expand their service offerings.
