SAFARI C(Cubed) Highest Rating from Cable Technology Experts

Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable and telecommunications industries, announced that its SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching System earned the highest rating ever given in the Broadband Gear Report Diamond Technology Reviews.

SAFARI C(Cubed), the only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch designed for the cable industry, earned Four and One-Half Diamonds from Broadband Gear Report's panel of industry experts. The rating represents a half-diamond increase over last year's score for SAFARI C(Cubed), which was entered in the VoIP Solutions category.

"Among the dozens of products that have been reviewed in our program, Four and One-Half Diamonds remains the top rating," said Tim Hermes, publisher of Broadband Gear Report. "The benefits that SAFARI C(Cubed) brings to the cable operators were clear to our panel of experts and that is reflected in the score."

"One of the real achievements of our team has been the forward architecting of SAFARI C(Cubed) to provide support today for NCS voice, SIP features and IP Multimedia Subsystem platforms," said Andy Paff, president and CEO of Cedar Point Communications. "We're pleased that Broadband Gear Report and their panelists have again recognized the value that SAFARI C(Cubed) can bring to cable system operators today, and in the future."

Products in the Diamond Technology Reviews Program were entered in six categories: VoIP Solutions; On-Demand and High-Definition Video; The Digital Home; Network Management and OSS; Advanced Networking Solutions; and Outside Plant. Judges included Wayne Hall, vice president of engineering for Comcast; Tom Gorman, vice president of operations engineering for Charter; Robert Schaeffer, Founder and senior technologist of Technology Planners; Paul Stephens, vice president of technical operations, Greensboro Division, for Time Warner Cable; and Gene White, vice president of engineering for Bright House.

The only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure, SAFARI C(Cubed) provides seamless evolution to SIP-based features and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture. SAFARI C(Cubed) provides superior performance and reliability, significantly reducing capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for cable operators offering telephony services while increasing network integrity, security and privacy.

SAFARI C(Cubed) is PacketCable-qualified and future-architected to fit within an IMS core network infrastructure, allowing network operators to leverage their initial equipment investment in voice as they introduce such services as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications. New applications can be integrated into SAFARI C(Cubed), or can be accessed via third-party application servers.
