VoIP Providers Using IPeerX Get an Uptime Guarantee

IPeerX, Inc.,a subsidiary of pulver.com Enterprises and provider of VoIP peering services, announced that it has signed a hosting agreement with PEER 1 Network Enterprises, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance Internet infrastructure. The agreement marks a critical milestone in the growth of IPeerX and its separation from Free World Dialup (FWD) and IPeerX's ability to provide unfailing service to VoIP providers worldwide. IPeerX chose PEER 1 for its reliability and dedication to uptime, as well as its reach and multiple locations. VoIP providers using IPeerX's peering services will now benefit from PEER 1's uptime guarantee.

"Our customers are Internet telephony providers who cannot afford downtime. Since the launch of IPeerX, we have proven our business model with key customer successes, and we continue to strengthen and commercialize our network for our customers," said Kingsley Hill, president of IPeerX. "PEER 1 is an integral part of the process, and we look forward to a successful future of very high reliability and availability."

IPeerX provides VoIP peering services to link IP communications networks and route calls around the more expensive Public Switched Telephone Network. IPeerX is now switching traffic and completing calls between more than 130 service providers in its network, representing more than 4 million end users.

"PEER 1 is happy to add IPeerX to its customer base," said Joe Cooper, general manager of PEER 1 in New York. "PEER 1 is the first Internet infrastructure provider to offer a 100 percent uptime guarantee, and we share the dedication of the IPeerX team to the Internet and performance reliability. We also believe our VoIP customers will appreciate the IPeerX peering and address resolution platform."

"While interconnection is logical, introducing extraneous services that some customers may not want can introduce unnecessary friction," added Kingsley Hill. "Therefore, we seek to do for our customers only what is necessary to help the VoIP industry and technology grow and supplant the legacy telephone network. Our agreement with PEER 1 will help the whole VoIP movement in general since guaranteed uptime means that more people will come to rely on VoIP rather than the standard phone network."

IPeerX doesn't require that its customers use layer 2 peering or interconnection by managed networks. However, for VoIP providers who wish to have a meeting place for managed networks, IPeerX recommends PEER 1.
