Ojo Video Phone Now Available for Use with VoIP Services

WorldGate Communications, Inc. announced that Ojo Personal Video Phones are now capable of handling VoIP services. Traditionally, consumers require a separate device - commonly referred to as an ATA - in order to receive low-cost VoIP telephone services. The new capabilities of the Ojo Personal Video Phone enable callers to access VoIP services without the use of a separate ATA.

VoIP service providers can now integrate the Ojo Personal Video Phone into their networks and offer personal video phone services without the need to provide the consumer with a separate VoIP interface device. "This allows VoIP service providers to rapidly expand their revenue opportunities from their subscribers while minimizing their investment in consumer premises equipment," says Hal Krisbergh, Chairman and CEO of WorldGate Communications.

Ojo is the first broadband video phone to feature a friendly and intuitive display that facilitates realistic, face-to-face, personal communications experiences over DSL and cable broadband networks. Users simply connect their Ojo Personal Video Phone to their broadband networks to experience true-to- life video phone calls.
