ARRIS' Cadant C4 CMTS Selected by Cablemas for VoIP Launch in Mexico

ARRIS announced that Mexican Multiple System Cable Operator (MSO) Cablemas has selected the ARRIS Cadant C4 CMTS to provide advanced voice (VoIP) and high-speed data service to its customers. Several fully-loaded C4 CMTS chassis have been installed and activated in Tijuana in anticipation of widespread VoIP and high speed data deployments throughout the Cablemas service area of more than 1.5 million homes passed.

"We were very impressed with the Cadant C4's superior features," said Cablemas COO Arnoldo Meiselmann on announcing the selection. "The C4's capacity, hitless sparing and all-component redundancy were among the reasons we decided to deploy ARRIS' CMTS platform." "Additionally, ARRIS has provided thorough support in the evaluation and deployment processes and we are confident that the Cadant C4 is the right platform for our VoIP plans," added Cecilia Pedraza, Cablemas CTO.

"We are really excited about the opportunity of working with a professional group of people such as the Cablemas Team," said Claudio Cerioli, ARRIS Senior Vice President for Europe and Latin America. "Our goal is to make Cablemas very successful with their VoIP deployment."

In addition to their order for multiple Cadant C4 CMTS', Cablemas has tested and approved the ARRIS Touchstone TM402G Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (E-MTA) and has placed an initial order for several thousand units.
