and Network Equipment Technologies, Inc.
(N.E.T.) announced that DTECH LABS has begun shipments of its WHISPER900 Mobile VoIP Gateway product to multiple customers in government and military organizations. The WHISPER900 is a very small and light yet feature-rich VoIP product that utilizes the N.E.T. SHOUT IP software architecture. Its deployment is a key indicator of the shift towards secure VoIP implementations -- especially for VIP and executive travel teams that are now beginning to rely upon IP technology for everyday and emergency communications.
To date, the WHISPER900 has been deployed in several operational scenarios, both domestic and international, for fixed locations as well as "mobile in-use" applications supporting both standard and emergency-on-demand communications scenarios.
"By deploying a WHISPER900 Mobile VoIP solution as part of an embedded secure communications architecture, our customers are realizing the benefits of IP-based communications, including increased point-to-point bandwidth efficiency, the ability to handle multiple secure STU, FNBDT and STE (in STU mode) calls over a single 64Kbps channel, and complete point-to-multipoint voice/data communications," said Robert Denson, president of DTECH LABS. "Our cooperation with N.E.T., and our use of their award-winning SHOUT software, is what makes this possible."
The WHISPER900 combines the DTECH LABS Mobile Hardware Architecture with N.E.T.'s award-winning SHOUT software -- the same software used in the N.E.T. SHOUT900 platform. Weighing in at under 8lbs, the WHISPER900 uses a unique DTECH LABS hardware design that allows it to operate in extremely low-power environments. Its small size (11" x 15.5" x 1U configuration) makes it ideal for mobile or transportable applications.
