Power-One Selects AT&T to Power Their Global Network

AT&T today announced it has been selected by Power-One Inc. to be the company's sole telecommunications provider as part of a three-year, $2.6 million deal. Camarillo-based Power-One is one of the world's largest power-conversion equipment manufacturers.

AT&T will provide a fully managed, secure Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN), converging Power-One's voice, video and data traffic for the company's locations worldwide. The AT&T solution replaces separate voice and data networks from multiple vendors and provides a common networking platform for Power-One sites in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean -- simplifying data transfer processes and offering significant operational efficiencies.

"AT&T's networking solution enables us to streamline our operations across the globe," said Mike Ballerini, Power-One corporate vice president of information technology. "The ability to share information between offices on a secure, reliable and high-speed network is key to our business and essential to our customers who rely on Power-One's equipment and services. The opportunity to utilize video conferencing and increase the quality of our VoIP networks will certainly give us an edge over the competition."

The contract expands an existing relationship between Power-One and AT&T and signifies Power-One's preference to contract with a single provider to address all of its networking needs. AT&T will provide a portfolio of voice and data services, including high-speed Internet access, hosting, teleconference and secure remote network access.
